SOAR Therapy’s StepByStep tools help children and adults build sequencing skills — one step at a time.
A quick tour of StepByStep — from starting a sequence to exporting a clinical progress report.
Every session starts fresh. The illustrated cards are presented out of order — the user’s job is to arrange them into the correct sequence.
Drag & drop or tap to arrangeAs cards are placed, the app shows what’s correct and what still needs work. Partial credit is tracked so every attempt tells a story.
Live feedback per stepThe History screen gives you a full picture of every user’s progress — total attempts, average score, perfect scores, and your most-practiced sequences. Everything a clinician needs, in one place.
Built-in progress trackingBefore exporting, optionally add a progress notes section — sequence focus, cueing level, observations, and next steps.
Documentation-readyOne tap generates a clean, printable progress report — complete with summary stats, sequence breakdown, attempt history, and your session notes.
Print or save as PDFOne tap generates a clean, printable progress report — complete with summary stats, sequence breakdown, attempt history, and your session notes.
Print or save as PDFAdd as many users as you need under a single login — perfect for therapists managing a full caseload, teachers with a classroom, or families with multiple kids.
A visual sequencing tool that helps children and adults practice everyday routines — breaking activities into clear, simple steps so users can learn and complete them in the correct order.
Sequencing is the ability to put steps in the right order — a foundational skill for independence in daily life.
ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) are basic self-care tasks like brushing teeth, washing hands, and getting dressed.
IADLs (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) are more complex tasks like cooking, cleaning, and managing routines.
When clients can sequence a routine independently, they gain real-world confidence and reduce reliance on verbal prompting.
Simple formats for browser-based practice, printable packs, and hands-on sessions.

SOAR Therapy was born from real clinical experience — and a belief that the right tools, thoughtfully made, can unlock real independence for anyone.
The clinical mind behind StepByStep. Erica co-founded SOAR Therapy over 13 years ago with a clear vision: simple, visual tools to help people practice real-life sequences and build independence. What started as an early iPad app has grown into the web-based platform it is today.
She designed the sequences, built the clinical framework, and continues to shape every product decision based on what actually works in a session.
Aaron is the co-founder of SOAR Therapy. He leads UI/UX for the app, incorporating feedback from clinicians to continuously improve the product. He also drives marketing, sales, and business development — connecting StepByStep with the therapists, educators, and families who need it most.
Filmed in 2014 when SOAR was just getting off the ground. The app has evolved — the mission hasn’t. Note: Erica’s last name has since changed to Matzkin.
